Garys’ Vineyard at 30: Two Families, One Vision, Three Decades of Greatness

Three decades ago, two childhood friends, Gary Franscioni and Gary Pisoni, planted a vineyard in Monterey County’s Santa Lucia Highlands that would become one of the most acclaimed sources of Pinot Noir in California. Today, Garys’ Vineyard is synonymous with intensity, elegance, and authenticity—a Santa Lucia Highlands hallmark.
Moderated by Mary Orlin, James Beard and Emmy Award-winning wine journalist and co-host of the wine podcast Sip, Sip, Hooray! She is a Certified Sommelier and WSET 3 with Merit. Currently Mary writes about wine for Edible East Bay. Most recently Mary was the wine writer for the San Jose Mercury News and Edible Silicon Valley. Previously Mary created the James Beard and Emmy-award winning TV series In Wine Country, on NBC. She’s also been a judge for many wine competitions. Mary is a long time fan of the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA and has visited the region’s wineries and vineyards many times.
