Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 12, 2025
Welcome, and thank you for being part of the Palm Springs Pinot Fest community.
We’re passionate about great wine, great events, and great guests —
and we take protecting your personal information just as seriously as we take
sourcing the perfect Pinot. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it,
who we share it with, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear,
please reach out using the contact details at the bottom.
1. About This Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Passion 4 Pinot (“we,” “us,” or “our”)
collects and handles personal information through
palmspringspinotfest.com
(the “Site”) and our wine tasting events. By using the Site or registering
for an event, you acknowledge the practices described here.
Our events and Site are intended for adults of legal drinking age (21 and older
in the United States). We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.
2. Information We Collect
Information You Give Us
We collect personal information when you choose to share it with us, such as when you:
- Register for or buy tickets to an event
- Sign up for our email list through our website signup form
- Contact us with a question or comment
- Share dietary restrictions, accessibility needs, or other event preferences
- Interact with us on social media
Depending on what you share, this may include your name, email address, postal
address, phone number, age or date of birth (for age verification), and any
other details you provide.
Ticketing & Payment Information
Ticket purchases are handled by our ticketing partner,
TicketSpice.
When you buy a ticket, your payment card details go directly to TicketSpice and
its payment processor — we don’t collect or store full card numbers
on our systems. TicketSpice handles your payment information under its own
privacy policy and PCI-DSS security standards. We do receive order details such
as your name, email, ticket type, and purchase confirmation so we can manage
your registration.
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect:
- Device and browser information (type, version, operating system)
- IP address and approximate geographic location
- Pages viewed, time spent, and links clicked
- The website that referred you to us and search terms used
- Date and time of your visit
This information is collected primarily through Google Analytics 4 and through
the advertising and embedded tools described below.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process event registrations and confirm your tickets
- Verify that attendees are of legal drinking age
- Send event confirmations, reminders, and important updates
- Send marketing emails about upcoming events, with the ability to unsubscribe at any time
- Respond to your inquiries and provide customer service
- Improve our Site, our events, and the experience we offer
- Measure the performance of our advertising and reach guests likely to enjoy our events
- Comply with legal obligations, including alcohol service and event safety regulations
- Prevent fraud, protect our rights, and ensure the safety of our events and attendees
4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies (pixels, tags, and
local storage) to operate the Site, understand how it’s used, and support
our marketing. Some of these technologies collect information that qualifies
as personal information under California and other state privacy laws.
The categories we use include:
- Strictly necessary: Required for the Site to work properly
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4, which helps us understand how visitors find and use the Site
- Advertising: Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel and Google Ads tags, which help us show relevant ads and measure their performance
- Embedded content: YouTube videos and our email signup form may set their own cookies when you interact with them
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. We honor Global Privacy
Control (GPC) signals as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of
your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. How We Share Information
We don’t sell your personal information for money. We do share information
in the following situations:
With Service Providers
We use trusted vendors to help us run our business, including:
- TicketSpice for event ticketing and registration
- Mailchimp for email marketing and our newsletter
- Google for analytics (GA4) and advertising (Google Ads, YouTube embeds)
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram) for advertising and audience measurement
- Squarespace for website hosting
- Event venues and partners when needed for event admission, safety, or special requests
These providers may only use your information as needed to perform services
for us, and each handles your data under its own privacy policy.
For Legal & Safety Reasons
We may share information when we believe in good faith that doing so is
necessary to comply with the law; respond to a subpoena or legal process;
protect the rights, property, or safety of Passion 4 Pinot, our guests,
or others; investigate fraud or security issues; or cooperate with law
enforcement and regulatory authorities.
Business Transfers
If we’re ever involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets,
your information may transfer as part of that transaction. We’ll notify you
of any change in ownership or control of your personal information.
With Your Consent
We may share your information for any other purpose with your consent.
6. Advertising & Analytics
We work with Google and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) to run advertising campaigns
that reach people who may enjoy our events. These platforms use cookies, pixels,
and similar technologies to:
- Show our ads to you on other websites and apps after you visit our Site (retargeting)
- Build audiences of people similar to our existing guests
- Measure how our ads perform
Under California law, some of this activity is considered “sharing”
of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You have
the right to opt out — see Section 9 for details on how.
You can also adjust ad settings directly with each platform:
- Google ad settings: adssettings.google.com
- Meta ad preferences: facebook.com/adpreferences
- Industry opt-out: aboutads.info/choices
7. How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes
described in this policy or to meet our legal obligations. In general:
- Event registration and attendance records: typically up to 7 years (for tax, accounting, and regulatory reasons)
- Email marketing list: until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed
- Website analytics data: typically 14 to 26 months
- Customer service correspondence: typically up to 3 years after the matter is resolved
When we no longer need your information, we delete or anonymize it.
8. How We Protect Your Data
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed
to protect your personal information. Access is limited to authorized people
and service providers who have agreed to keep your information confidential.
That said, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage
is 100% secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Privacy Rights
California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you live in California, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we’ve collected about you, where we got it, why we collected it, and who we’ve shared it with
- Delete personal information we’ve collected from you
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights
To exercise any of these rights, email us at
[email protected]
with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We’ll verify your
identity (typically by confirming a few details we already have on file)
before responding. You can also designate an authorized agent to make a
request on your behalf.
Other U.S. State Residents
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws — including Virginia,
Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Montana — have similar
rights, including the rights to access, delete, correct, and opt out of
targeted advertising. Use the same email address above to exercise these rights.
Email Marketing Opt-Out
Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom.
You can also email us anytime to be removed. We’ll continue sending
transactional messages (like ticket confirmations) as needed to fulfill
your requests.
Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there’s
no industry standard for how to interpret these signals, we don’t
currently respond to them. We do honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals
as described in Section 4.
10. Age Requirement & Children
Our Site and events are for adults of legal drinking age only. We don’t
knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If you believe
a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and
we’ll delete it.
11. Third-Party Links
Our Site may link to third-party websites — venue partners, ticketing
pages, social media, embedded YouTube videos, and others. We’re not
responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to
review their privacy policies before sharing information with them.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll
update the “Last Updated” date at the top. If we make material
changes, we’ll provide more prominent notice — for example, by
email or a banner on the Site. Changes apply going forward only. We encourage
you to check back periodically.
